I as a pet owner (once a client there) will never bring another pet there again, or recommend that clinic. I waited in the waiting room long then I should have (having the first booked appointmnet of the day) and spent max. 5 minutes in the exam room, leaving there with no answers as to what was wrong with my bunny. The vet also did not know what the two lumps where under his chin (scent glands) I thought that was funny she would say she didn't knwo what the lumps were. After only 5 minute quick exam and approx $100 later no answers. I went to another vet for the answers and he is now doing great.

I, too am through with Beardalls. I have found this clinic is much more interested in making money than caring for pet's welfare. Vets are constantly pushing invasive, overpriced and unnecessary treatments. Their approach is manipulative and condescending and I will not return with my 2 cats. Also, the front desk staff is rude and not helpful or accommodating. Try Kingston Mills on Montreal Street. They have a much more caring, sincere and honest approach to animal care.

I've been going there for awhile now and have had no problem. Perhaps it was your own personal situations but they have done nothing but help me and my cat. In any case you have to be willing to spend a little money. Maybe you should take a more objective approach.

I love Beardall- they have been nothing but helpful and kind to my dog. They have gone out of their way to help me in emergency situations and I have had nothing but great experiences with ALL of their staff. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with their care and encourage everyone to try Beardall out.

Since I was a young girl we took all of our animals to Beardall's. When I grew up and had dogs of my own I always went to Dr. Jones (4 dogs with him) I have since moved to the GTA and can tell you I miss Dr. Jones and have often considered driving the two hours with my dog just to see him. He is the best vet I have ever encountered. A Very kind and caring man and so is his staff.

I also had bad experiences with Beardall Animal Hospital. Several years ago, my cat Scout was very ill. He was only a few months old and his abdomen was severely distended and he was lethargic. We called the hospital to see if we could get an emergency appointment. They told it it was not worth our while but to come in when they opened. We were there and waiting when they opened and were told to wait. Meanwhile, Scout was barely moving. Eventually, we were taken in to see a vet and several tests were run. They kept Scout and hooked him up to a saline IV because he was apparently dehydrated. We were told to go home and that they would keep us updated.
By the end of the day, we had not heard from them, so called to ask about Scout's prognosis. They responded that he had died several hours ago. We were shocked and very upset that we hadn't been informed.
The next day, we picked up his body and had him buried in a pet cemetery. Two days later, we got a call from Beardall's asking what we wanted done with Scout's body. Again, we were very upset and told them that we had already picked him up. They apologized.
A couple of weeks later, we received a bill in the mail. In spite of our being told that we should wait until opening, they were charging us for an emergency visit. Again, we were upset. We refused to pay since they had told us that we didn't need an emergency visit.
A couple of months after that, we received a phone call from them to ask when we were going to pay the remainder of the account. here's the great part. The person on the phone started by asking how Scout was doing. Thanks for dredging up the memories while at the same time acknowledging that you really don't care about the animals in your care. When we told her that he had died in their care, she apologized and we never heard back from them again.
I have not gone back to Beardall's since and would recommend that everyone avoid it like the plague. I have found the staff at Kingston Veterinary Clinic on Division Street to be very kind, considerate and to be very compassionate to the cats and dogs that we have had since Scout.
